Purchase Secretariat's Meadow Online From TRF Today. For Each Book Sold, TRF Will Receive a $7.50 Contribution from the Publisher!
Secretariat’s Meadow . . . The Land . . . The Family . . . The Legend. By Kate Chenery Tweedy and Leeanne Ladin. Published by Dementi Milestone Publishing. Purchase the new book about Secretariat and his birthplace, the Meadow, just newly released. Although much has been written about the Triple Crown legend, Secretariat, and a new Disney will come out about him this fall, the complete story of Secretariat’s birthplace and the Chenery family who raised and raced him has never been told . . . until now—and a Chenery is telling it!
Secretariat’s Meadow, The Land, the Family, The Legend is the story of how the author Kate Chenery Tweedy’s mother, Penny, and grandfather, Christopher T. Chenery, came to breed and race the horse many call the most perfect racehorse we will ever see. Three years in the making, this book, co-authored with Virginia writer, Leeanne Ladin, tells not only Secretariat’s story, but also the saga of an enduring piece of land where an “empire built on broodmares” produced an immortal son.
Penny Chenery wrote the foreword to Secretariat’s Meadow and shared over 200 exclusive photos from her private collection for the 160-page pictorial history. The narrative is enriched by Kate’s vivid recollections of The Meadow as a child and her eyewitness account of the magic and the mayhem surrounding her mother and “Big Red” during the Triple Crown races in 1973. The back cover of the book features endorsements by Diane Lane, the award-winning actress who plays Penny Chenery in the movie Secretariat, jockey Ron Turcotte, exercise rider Jim Gaffney, author Bill Nack, racing historian Ed Bowen and Dell Hancock of Claiborne Farm.
The book is a pictorial history, 9 X 12, in full color, with over 300 photos, 160 pages. Price: $29.95, with additional charges for shipping, handling and taxes. For each book TRF sells online, the publisher will provide us with a contribution at no additional charge to you. To purchase Secretariat’s Meadow, go to
